FAQs
Questions, answered
About the free trial, pricing, your data, learners and parents, and moving from another system.
Getting started
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every package starts with a 30-day free trial with everything that is built switched on. Nothing is charged unless you choose a package and authorise a Direct Debit yourself.
Who is TUZO HQ for?
Independent driving instructors and driving schools in the UK, from one instructor to a team with an office.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. TUZO HQ runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and can be added to your phone’s home screen like an app. Learners and parents use it the same way.
I am a trainee instructor (PDI). Is it free for me?
Free TUZO HQ access for PDIs until qualified. Free access lasts up to 12 months. Upload your valid trainee licence (pink badge) as evidence. When it expires, upload your second valid licence to keep free access. You can use a maximum of two consecutive licences. Free access ends when you qualify as an ADI or after 12 months, whichever comes first. After that you have 30 days to choose a package, and a PDI whose free period ended by passing Part 3 gets 25% off their first three monthly payments. Upload your trainee licence once you have signed up, or ask us first through the contact page.
Packages
What is included in Starter?
Everything an independent instructor needs: the diary with weekly planning and calendar feeds, unlimited learners with progress, reflections, next-lesson focus and development reports, the learner and parent portals, practical and mock tests with DL25 faults, charges, payments, receipts, balances, expenses and mileage, enquiries with a waiting list, two-way messaging, TUZO QuickBook for filling free lesson times, vehicle and qualification reminders, and two-step sign-in. The full list is on the pricing page.
What extra features does Professional include?
Everything in Starter, plus One Inbox, suggested lesson times from learners’ availability, a proposed week for you to review, advanced analytics with diary utilisation and unbooked time, advanced test performance, income by instructor and school revenue reports, marketing analytics, vehicle cost analysis and CPD reporting. Priority support, AI assistance and automation are coming soon.
What is TUZO QuickBook?
TUZO QuickBook fills free lesson times. You post a time of 30, 45, 60, 90, 120 or 180 minutes and choose who sees it: all your learners, your waiting list or chosen learners, optionally limited by distance from a postcode and by gearbox. Eligible learners who have opted in are emailed, they see it under Available Lessons in their own app, and the first to take it books it straight into your diary. It is included in every package.
What is One Inbox, and which packages include it?
One Inbox puts learner messages and parent and guardian messages in one place, so you can reply from TUZO HQ and see what is unread. Website enquiries are on the Enquiries list in every package. It is included in Professional and Driving School, not in Starter, and it is not an optional extra. WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram (including new enquiries that arrive through them), text messages and missed calls are coming soon to One Inbox.
What are the optional extras?
SMS Credits, AI Receptionist and Automated Marketing are paid services you can add to any package. They are never included in a package and each one starts only when you choose it. None is on sale yet. See the optional extras page for what each will do and what it costs.
What does Driving School add?
Everything in Professional, plus several instructors with their diaries side by side, central administration, learners allocated to instructors, custom staff roles and permissions, shared vehicles without clashes, school-wide reporting, school branding, and fleet and qualification oversight.
Are administration staff accounts free?
Yes. A Driving School subscription is priced by active teaching instructors only. Administrators and office staff who do not teach are free, however many you have.
Which features are coming soon?
Features not available yet are marked Coming soon on the pricing page, including WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram and text messages in One Inbox, automated follow-ups, AI assistance, income forecasting, progress trends, Making Tax Digital, multiple locations and the help centre. You are never charged extra for a feature that is not available.
Which services cost extra?
Paid services are separate from the packages: SMS Credits, AI Receptionist, Automated Marketing (price to be confirmed), Franchise Management, Sponsored ADI Training Management, assisted onboarding and data migration, and administration training. Ask us about any of them.
Pricing and billing
How much does it cost?
Starter is £14.99 a month and Professional £20.99 a month. Driving School is £24.99 a month for the first active teaching instructor and £12.49 for each additional one. Paying annually is twelve months paid once a year in advance.
How do I pay?
By Direct Debit through GoCardless, monthly or annually in advance. TUZO HQ does not take card payments for subscriptions.
Can I cancel?
Yes, at any time. What you have paid for runs to its end date.
Introductory offer
How does the introductory offer work?
Schools that register in the first 90 days after TUZO HQ opens to the public keep the offer through their 30-day free trial: 25% off their first six monthly payments, or 40% off their first year if they pay annually. There is no limit on how many schools can join.
What happens after the six discounted payments?
From the seventh monthly payment you pay the standard price, and we tell you before it is collected.
What happens when the discounted annual term ends?
Your subscription renews at the standard annual price, and we tell you before it is collected.
Do I qualify if my trial ends after the offer closes?
Yes. If you register while the offer runs, you keep it until your 30-day free trial ends, even if the offer has closed by then. The offer is once per school: monthly and annual discounts never combine, and changing how often you pay does not give it again.
Lessons and progress
How does the next-lesson focus work?
At the end of a lesson you and the learner agree what to work on next: you star the skills and write the focus. It is saved to the learner’s record and shown in their app, and when you open their next lesson the starred skills, their previous scores and the focus are already there.
Does TUZO HQ record my arrival and GPS location?
When you tap ARRIVED, the time is recorded once and kept as it was. A one-time location is attached only if you tick the box and your phone gives permission; it is supporting evidence, seen only by staff allowed to see a booking’s history, and never shown to learners or parents.
Data and security
Can other schools see my data?
No. Every record belongs to one school, and the server enforces that separation on every request.
Can my office staff see instructors’ earnings?
Staff see only what their permissions allow. The front desk, bookings and operations presets include no amounts of money, and an instructor’s own earnings stay private, even from the school’s Administrator.
How is sign-in protected?
Staff confirm each new sign-in with a second step: a code by email or an authenticator app. Learners and parents can choose to turn it on too.
Where can I read how data is used?
The privacy policy explains what TUZO HQ keeps, why, and how to ask for it to be deleted.
Learners, parents and switching
What do learners and parents see?
Their upcoming lessons, progress, test results, payments, receipts and messages with you. A parent of a learner under 18 is invited by the school; a learner aged 18 or over is asked before a parent can see their record.
Can learners pay online?
Not yet. Payments are recorded in TUZO HQ and receipted; online payment by learners is being set up with payment providers and is not available today. Once it is, a learner taking a TUZO QuickBook lesson that prepaid hours do not cover will pay online to secure it, where your school takes online payments.
Can I transfer learners from another system?
Yes. Learners, future bookings and opening balances can be imported from spreadsheet (CSV) files, checked and previewed before anything is saved. Tell us what your current system can export through the contact page; help with moving your records is a paid service.
Does TUZO HQ send texts or WhatsApp messages?
Not yet. Today TUZO HQ sends messages in the app and by email, and One Inbox brings learner and parent messages together. WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram and text messages are coming to One Inbox, and texts will use SMS Credits, an optional extra.
